In the 20th match of the IPL 2024, MI will be up against DC. Both teams have had similar starts to their campaign in the IPL 2024. DC have managed to win just one of their four matches so far. They won the match against CSKL after losing the first two matches against PBKS and RR respectively. But their most recent loss against KKR was bad, as they conceded the second-highest score in the history of the IPL and lost the match by 106 runs.

MI have lost all its three matches so far. The home side will be desperate for a win against DC in the upcoming game. In the last game, MI was bundled out for just 125 runs by RR. But the contest between DC and MI in the IPL has been rather close. Both teams have provided some quality matches over the years. Even individually, there have been players who performed well in the matches between the two sides.   There are many records created by RCB in the process.

MI have been up against DC in the league in 32 instances. The 5-time champions have a slight upper hand with a total of 17 wins to their name, and DC have 15 wins to their name. Three of their games ended in a tie or without a result. The home side has a good chance of bettering their record against the visiting side.

Rohit Sharma has registered the most runs for MI against DC in the IPL. The right-handed batter has scored 977 runs in 33 innings at a batting average of 32.57, and a strike rate of 131.14 including six fifties against the North Indian franchise. In addition to it, the star batter has smashed 46 sixes and 79 fours against DC in the league.

Top Wicket-Takers for MI against DC

Piyush Chawla has the most wickets against DC for a bowler. In 23 matches, the star spinner has claimed 26 wickets. But the bowler with the most wickets for MI against DC is Jasprit Bumrah. The star pacer has claimed 23 wickets in 19 innings at a bowling average of 23.43. 

MI’s Highest Team Totals against DC

In 2010, MI registered 218 runs in the league game at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, which is their highest score as a team against DC in the league. Mumbai Indians ended up beating Delhi in their own backyard by a comfortable margin. 

MI’s Lowest Team Totals against DC

In the IPL 2012, MI was bundled out for a score of just 92 runs by Delhi in their own backyard. MI managed to score only 92 runs in Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Delhi beat MI in one of the most dominating fashions. 

MI IPL Records and Milestones against DC:

1. In the IPL 2017, MI defeated DC by 146 runs, which remains the biggest margin of win for a team in terms of the number of runs. MI scored 212 runs on the board and reduced DC to just 66 runs while defending. 
2. In 2020, MI became just the second team to be an opponent in four matches in the same season. In both league stage matches, the Qualifier 1, and the final, MI defeated DC and won four matches in the season.
3. Rohit Sharma is the second-highest run-scorer against DC in the history of the league. The 36-year-old has 977 runs against DC and is just 23 runs away from becoming the second batter to score 1000 or more runs against the opponent.
4. Piyush Chawla has the highest number of wickets for a bowler against DC. In 23 innings, the experienced spinner has claimed a total of 26 wickets against the 2020 finalists.
