European side Ireland (IRE) will host South Africa (SA) in the first T20I of the series, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, in Abu Dhabi, on Friday, September 27. This will be the commencement of an almost two-week-long tour of South Africa where they will play two T20Is and three ODIs, respectively. Notably, all the games will be held at the same venue and the acclimatisation becomes easier for the teams. 

Ireland were ousted from the group stages of the T20 World Cup 2024, whereas, South Africa have regrouped after the heart-wrenching final loss against India. Both teams will clash in a T20I game for the first time after two years. South Africa were whitewashed by West Indies in the recent T20I series. Hence, Proteas will aim for a resurgence in the upcoming matches.
