Preview:
England (ENG) and Pakistan (PAK) will square off in the second T20I of the four-game series on Saturday, May 25 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The first T20I between the two at Leeds was abandoned without a single ball being bowled, as rain played spoilsport.
The English team will be playing a T20I game after a gap of around five months, as their last series was in December 2023. With the T20 World Cup 2024 around the corner, the defending champions will be looking to tick all the boxes before entering the marquee event. The ongoing series will be very important for the Jos Buttler-led side as they will not be playing any warm-up games leading up to the global event.
On the other hand, Pakistan are also playing their last T20I series ahead of the month-long tournament in the West Indies and USA. The Babar Azam-led side recently played a three-match T20I series against Ireland and won the series by 1-2 margin. The Men in Green will be gunning to offer a tough fight to the Three Lions at their home.

Edgbaston, Birmingham Pitch Report:
The surface at Edgbaston tends to favour seam bowlers initially, creating a challenge for batters in the early stages of the innings. The pitch is known to assist extra bounce and pace, giving bowlers an edge early on in the game. However, if the batters can survive the tough period and get settled, run-scoring becomes easier. As the game progresses, spinners may also come into play and influence the proceedings. The average first innings score at this ground is 143 runs. In 26 matches played at this venue, the team batting first has emerged victorious 17 times. The team that wins the toss will opt to bat first.

ENG vs PAK Probable Best Performers
Probable Best Batter:
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam could be the best batter in the second T20I against England. Azam’s stunning form against Ireland, where he scored 132 runs across three matches, making him the joint-highest run-scorer in the series, has been truly exceptional. Azam can rotate strikes well in the middle overs along with play shots freely. His performance with the bat will be a big advantage for the visitors in the upcoming game.
Probable Best Bowler:
England’s bowling all-rounder Chris Jordan could be among the pick of the bowlers in the second T20I against Pakistan. Considered a T20I bowling specialist, the 35-year-old Jordan has been a crucial asset for the Three Lions during the middle and death over the years. His capabilities in delivering deceptive slower balls in the middle overs, along with his abilities to execute yorkers with perfection at the death, have made him a vital cog in the team’s bowling attack.
