Afghanistan (AFG) begin their  T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on Tuesday, June 4, as they square off against Uganda (UGA) in match No. 5 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Afghanistan will enter the contest as the favourites. They are making their seventh appearance in a T20 World Cup. Afghan players have played a lot of franchise cricket in recent years and are no strangers to the shortest format of the game. Their first warm-up game against Oman was washed out after the completion of one innings. In their second warm-up fixture, the Blue Tigers comprehensively defeated Scotland by 55 runs.

Uganda will have their task cut out against the experienced Afghanistan side. The African nation lost their first warm-up match against Namibia by five wickets before their second game ended without a result due to inclement weather.
