Canada (CAN) and Ireland (IRE) will look to open their accounts when they face each other in match No. 13 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Friday, June 7.

Canada played in the curtain raiser against neighbours USA in Dallas. They put on a solid batting effort to post 194/5 in their 20 overs. However, a sensational knock from Aaron Jones helped the hosts track down the challenging score in just 17.4 overs with seven wickets to spare. Saad Bin Zafar’s men would want to bounce back from the defeat and register Canada’s first win in T20 World Cup history.

Ireland had a tough outing in their T20 World Cup opener as they were handed a thrashing by inaugural champions India. After being asked to bat first on a tricky surface at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the European nation were blown over 96. The Men in Blue made light work of the run-chase as they romped home with eight wickets and 46 balls in the bank.
